Review by simoa 🌷 ★★★ 1 just a bit disappointing compared to the book, which is one of the best I've ever read Narrated by an unnamed character, Balzac and The Little Chinese Seamstress is the story of two boys, both innately talented (one is a "genius at storytelling", and the other a "fine musician") who are sent from their hometown of Chengdu to work in the coal mines and tend to the rice crop in the mountains near Tibet as part of Mao Zedong's "re-education through labor" program.
